Art Classes

Our 2022/2033 Little’s Art University calendar is here! Our 10-month session includes 63 classes at a monthly cost of $214.20 + GST. Classes begin Monday, September 12th and ends June 14th with our end of year art gala where students will be selling original artwork for a charitable cause!

These classes run TWICE weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm. This year's session includes watercolour painting, wire sculptures, paper making, sketching, acrylic painting, and more! We will also have guest instructors come in to teach specialized units. All supplies and materials are provided.

This year's session includes watercolour painting, wire sculptures, paper making, sketching, acrylic painting, and more! We will also have guest instructors come in to teach specialized units. All supplies and materials are provided.

Please note that the age groups get divided into 2 classes. 11-12y/olds and 8-10y/olds.

We are so excited to have your young budding artists join us for our 2022/2023 Teen LAU Session. This session begins September 11th until June 11th and includes 32 2-hour long weekly classes on Sunday evenings from 5pm-7pm at Pinnovate DIY Studio.

Throughout our 10 months together, students will learn an array of art mediums from professional working artists in Calgary and our in-house team! Field trips to visit art galleries in the city will be included as well. Homework may be assigned throughout the year.  Our Gala is back on June 11, 2023 with teens creating their own art pieces to sell for charity!

Art supplies and materials are provided. A parent meeting will be taking place at the beginning of the first class on September 11 to discuss field trips and class expectations.

Bring your personality to the skatepark!

Spend 6 weeks with Team Pinnovate guiding you through designing and creating your own custom board from scratch.

Children will spend time conceptualizing their individual pieces and learn the step-by-step process in design fundamentals, painting application, thumb-nailing, vinyl work, layout, and production. At the end of the 6 weeks students will come out with a one of a kind skateboard hand painted and designed by them! 

Classes are held weekly on Sundays from 11am-12:30pm

Choose from 2 sessions:

• September 18th - October 30th  *No class on October 9th*

• January 8th - February 12th

Skateboards, art production materials, and sealant included.

Please note that grip tape, trucks and wheels are not included.

December 10th Painting Theme: 'Tis the Season

Each class will be different so you can register for as many as you'd like. 

Doors will open at 6:00pm to accomodate any guests who wishes to order food or drink before the instruction begins promptly at 6:30pm. All materials and supplies are provided. Finished paintings will get taken home the same night, no pickup required! 

REGISTRATION CLOSES 48 HOURS PRIOR TO EVENT START TIME.

This is not a children's exclusive event, but budding artists ages 13+ are welcome to register.

Learn from the amazing Taylor Odynski as she spends 5 weeks in studio with us teaching the fundamentals and important techniques of mixed-media painting.

Each registrant will get a full box of acrylic paints and painting supplies that get taken home with you at the end of the course. Continue your painting journey with the knowledge and skills learned over these 5 weeks.

Class runs on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm-9:00pm starting January 10th - February 7th

Bar and kitchen services will be available during the class if you wish to have dinner and drinks while the class goes on!

If you have joined this class previously, you are able to join again! No repeat paintings from our last session.

Classes run from 5:30-7:00pm on Thursday evenings starting January 12th and ending March 2nd.

Classes run from 7:30-9:00pm on Thursday evenings starting January 12th and ending March 2nd.

This 8-week program focuses on using acrylic paints to create beautiful landscape paintings. 

Participants will learn various styles and techniques including

• Colour theory; mixing and matching
• Recognizing and seeing values
• Composition: how to build landscapes
• Perspective basics
• How to build colour palettes
• 1930's style landscape travel posters

All supplies and materials are included!

Our kitchen and bar services will be open if you wish to have dinner and drinks while class is running.

Classes run from 7:30-9:00pm on Monday evenings starting January 9th and ending March 6th. There is no class on February 20th.

Are you ready to sharpen your drawing skills? Our Drawing and Sketching Fundamentals class is perfect for all skill levels!

This session will primarily focus portrait sketching. During this 8-week course, children will learn pencil handling, pressure techniques, blending, shading, still-life drawing skills and charcoal beginner techniques. Students will finish this course with a portfolio of drawings and a strong understanding of this classic medium to continue their artistic journey.

All supplies and materials included: charcoal pencils, kneadable eraser, rubber eraser, sketchpad, student sketching pencils, blending stumps.

Classes run weekly on Sunday mornings from 9am-10:30am
